Hbd june 27th, as i blow out a hot summer candle on a cupcake. and look to the left
Today, in order, I read: an ode to American English; a poem
about a spiral notebook; a poem about the Earth’s heart; more poems about
newscasters; a poem where every stanza ended in BURMA-SHAVE; some documentation
for PyTorch; a lot of code files about a generator; a group chat with a few messages
and a story, and some of the story I started yesterday.

Every day write a
poem. Hmm alright
Crickets come. Lightness fades,
the warm dusky scent
of blue air, lights flickering on, one by
One down the street, sometimes smelling like
Sweat. The pretense of ice cream hanging
Outside, like a promise. Sometimes you don’t want to work
With all the t-shirts and shorts and sandals
And some sunglasses too. Just sit outside,
the grass poking your hands. or feet.
solid concrete. It’s like how the dogs bark
Too far to hear, but there. Music is when the feet tap
To whatever invisible rhythm
Inspired us in the first place.
\\
Oh oh oh something happened today! You know that excitement
when you’re a five-year old and everything
is too great not to share with somebody?

Also I graduated... um okay, sure ...
